11th annual Short Run Comix & Arts Festival on Saturday, Nov. 4th! We are happy to be back at Fisher Pavilion at Seattle Center, hosting 250 small press comix, zine, and book artist-exhibitors from 26 states and 8 countries.
Special festival guests include former Seattleite and international comic art star Simon Hanselmann; king of DIY small press Tim Root; illustrator and comics artist Arantza Peña Popo (seen in the pages of The Stranger, The New Yorker, LA Times); Risograph master Johanna Maierski of Colorama in Germany; cartoonist, musician, world builder Ron Regé, Jr.; Finnish cartoonist Amanda Vahamaki (best known for The Bun Field); from Brussels – Léonie Bischoff, in cooperation with Fantagraphics Books (with her new book Anais Nin: A Sea of Lies), and from New Delhi, India, cartoonist and animator Anand Shenoy.
See the full exhibitor list on shortrun.org
On the hour, Curator & Manager of Fantagraphics Bookstore (and local treasure) Larry Reid will facilitate interviews with artists in an outdoor, tented space in front of Fisher Pavilion. Paper Press Punch returns to assist the audience in making their own 8-page zine at the show (with extras to trade!). We also welcome back Bakescapade as our bakery pop-up to keep everyone in coffee and pastries all day!
Fisher Pavilion has an incredible HVAC system, blowing 100% fresh air throughout the 12,000 sq. ft. space. We are taking extra safety measures by opening the front windows, having some outdoor tents, providing hand sanitizer to all exhibitors, offering masks, and asking anyone who is not feeling well to please sit this one out. Admission is free as always.
