The September 4th pre-tourney at the 8-Bit returns as a run up to the main NW Pinball Championships the following weekend. The tee times start at noon and there are plenty of space still available all day. Like all of the pre-tournaments this tournament awards the winners with entries to the event at Championships on Lynnwood Bowl & Skate on September 8-10. Sign-ups for pingolf can be found Here. Earlier this month the local City Council passed legistration getting rid of the license that forced businesses to pay for each device that required payment to play. This was an annual fee that included devices such as pool tables, jukeboxes, arcade games and (of course) pinball machines. The license was repealled as a way to help downtown businesses attract more foot traffic and customers, which still haven’t recovered from the 2020 lock down. On August 24th the Admiral Pub is hosting the first of 8 pre-tournaments leading up to the annual Northwest Pinball Championships on Sept 8th – 10th. Since this year’s Championships are (mostly) sold out, the pre-tourneys are one of the only ways to still get in if you haven’t already registered. There are a lot of details, rules and links on our event calendar!
Another way to earn entries into the Championships is by volunteering and there are still a few spots available. The Downtown Seattle Association is hosting a free all-ages arcade in Pioneer Square every Thursday until the end of September. Along with games on free play there will also be a pinball tournament which begins at 6. More details and links on our calendar.
Being one of the top two players at one these tournaments will advance you to the finals on October 29th. This weekend (August 20th) it’s at Raygun, next week it’s at Time Warp and so forth until the finals which will then happen at both locations! Our Calendar has the details…
